Super Mario Crew Sketch

Just a sketch of the Mario Bros., Princesses, and Wicked Bros.

To be frank, over the days I've just been down right depressed about my art, mainly for a number of reasons. One reason is that I've become uninspired, or that I've been having a huge art block. That's common, so it's not a big deal. Another reason is that I've been seeing a lot of other artists and art which are astounding, and then afterwards I'll look at my art and be like... oh (but really, the worst thing you can ever do is compare your art to someone else's in order to make yourself feel like an ass). So really other than Point commissions, nothing has really kept me going.

Usually when I feel like this, I try to trace back to my roots, so I asked myself, why did I keep drawing? .. and it took me back to Super Mario Bros. Hell, that's what really got me into drawing and everything so I realized that that was probably what I should draw again. And so, I did! And to be honest, it made me feel a lot better.

Among all of the other art I do, such as Point Commissions, Hetalia, a little of Metalocalypse, Sam and OC pictures, as well as comics and sketches,WARNING: CHEESY MOMENT the Mario art is mostly where my heart is. I never get tired of it. And even though I may feel as though I'm not as good as other artists, I'm still learning new things and I've already come so far from where I was a few years ago.. the only place you can go is up.

So take my advice.. if you ever feel like absolute shit about your art, think about why you did it and how far you've come. There's always room to improve, no matter how good or bad you think you may be.
